WhatsApp is soon bringing Pip mode for video calls

Vivid News 24: Recently, WhatsApp has started introducing new features. For instance, this year it gained the capability of responding to communications with emojis. Shortly, the Meta platform hopes to include a picture-in-picture (PiP) option for video conversations.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature is already available to some beta testers and will likely be made available to additional people in the next few days. By using this function, users can continue their WhatsApp video call in a minimized window on their phones, freeing up the screen for other uses.

With the aid of this feature, users will also be able to use other apps while on a video call. Several beta testers can make video calls using this functionality after downloading the most recent WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.24.0.79 from the Test Flight app.

A PiP view will be immediately discernible when you are multitasking with other programs, the study claims. Since it makes use of the official iOS APIs, you can choose to temporarily conceal the video call view if you choose.

Even while this functionality may be compatible with iOS 15 and later versions of iOS, according to WABetaInfo, there is presently no proof that it has been made available to iOS 15 users. The feature is currently available on at least iOS 16.1, so according to WABetaInfo, it might be one of the features supported by the update that adds official support for iOS 16.

WhatsApp will also roll out the ability to restrict screenshots in the meantime. The function is presently undergoing beta testing. Screenshot blocking will, as the name implies, prevent users from screenshotting “view once” images and videos.

Users can limit screen recording and capture of the shared media with this functionality. By the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023, consumers might have access to this capability. Avatars are a new feature that the Meta platform is also looking to introduce.

The avatar can be applied as a sticker utilized during a video call. “Companion Mode” is another feature that customers will experience. Users will be able to attach tablets and other mobile devices to their current WhatsApp accounts using this capability. Users can only currently utilize Web WhatsApp to connect their existing WhatsApp account to a PC.

The lengthening of the window of time during which delivered messages may be deleted is another improvement WhatsApp is preparing. The delivered messages can currently be deleted by users within 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds.
