Vivid News 24: The Lok Sabha elections preparations were launched by Mallikarjun Kharge. On Monday, the task group members will meet with the president of the Congress. It is possible to divide up selection duties among the task force members. On November 14, the task group will convene for the first time under the direction of the new president Mallikarjun Kharge.
The task force was formed by the then Congress caretaker president Sonia Gandhi last May keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress wants to keep a bird’s eye view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections between the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is going to hold a meeting with the members of the task force on Monday to decide the party’s plan for the Lok Sabha elections.
Incidentally, Rahul Gandhi is not in the eight-member committee formed for the Lok Sabha elections. The committee members are P Chidambaram, Mukul Wasnik, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Priyanka Gandhi and Sunil Kanugolu.

According to reports in the Congress, the task force meeting led by the new president may distribute the responsibilities of the members. Also, it is said that the new president may discuss the outline of the party’s strategy in the Lok Sabha elections with the committee members.
It is to be noted that the creation of powerful action group was announced by the party before the start of Congress think tank in Udaipur, Rajasthan last April. The Action Group was formed to address the party’s problems and issues ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
According to their report, the then Congress caretaker president Sonia Gandhi constituted the eight-member task force. At that time, task forces were tasked with overseeing electoral activities, including the organization of new recruits. And it was agreed that the members of the force will also meet among themselves. But that meeting was not held due to several tasks including election of Congress President.
Mallikarjun Kharge was elected as Congress president last October. The biggest challenge for him now is to turn around the Congress which has gone to the edge of the ditch. After the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections, the year will turn with assembly elections in several states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka.
These assembly elections are an acid test for Kharge before the Lok Sabha elections. A section of the party thinks that if the party does not get good results, the question will be raised about Kharge’s leadership. Some people are raising questions about Kharge’s Lok Sabha preparations amid the assembly elections.
