Sanjay Raut hints at meeting Modi-Shah

Vivid News 24: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut adopted a different stance upon his release from custody on bail. He stated that he will meet with both Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A meeting with BJP leader and Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis was also requested by the Shiv Sena MP. Note that Sanjay Raut criticized Modi and Amit Shah up till his incarceration. But after being granted bail, he decided to reconsider. Political observers believe it to be crucial in Maharashtra politics.

However, this Shiv Sena MP from the Uddhav Thackeray camp has clarified his position on this issue. In his words, “Maharashtra government has taken several good decisions regarding housing in the last few days. I will meet the Deputy Chief Minister in the next few days to congratulate him on this.”

Note, The Shiv Sena was divided across the board this year. Eknath Shinde rebelled with a section of the party. Uddhav Thackeray lost the Chief Ministership due to this. Significantly, Sanjay Raut praised one-time party colleague and current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

However, a section of political experts consider Raut’s desire to meet Devendra Fadnavis to avoid Shinde after being released on bail to be quite significant. They claim that Devendra Fadnavis is running the current government in Maharashtra, not Shinde. Such speculations have been made for several days. Raut’s plan is believed to be to convey a message to Shinde by meeting Fadnavis.

The Shiv Sena MP indicated that he may meet not only Devendra Fadnavis, but also Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. But he did not reveal the reason for the meeting. However, he said that he will meet the country’s Prime Minister and Home Minister as an MP.

He said that he will explain in detail what happened to him in that meeting. Sanjay Raut also made it clear that he is not moving away from opposing the BJP. The Shiv Sena MP also opened up about his experience of being in jail for more than three months. He described the days of imprisonment as horrors. Raut said it was a painful time for him and his family.

Sanjay Raut was released on bail on Wednesday after spending more than 100 days in jail in a case related to illegal financial transactions. ED had arrested Raut in the case last August. The Shiv Sena spokesperson has been accused of illegally siphoning off money from the Patra Chawl development project in suburban Mumbai.
