India vs Pakistan: Five things to remember for India against Pakistan

Vivid News 24: India will play Pakistan in the T20 World Cup opener. There was a moment when India dominated Pakistan in the ICC match. But now, the situation has altered. India is under stiff competition from Pakistan. As an illustration, Babar Azam thrashed India in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. However, in a match affected by rain, India won the 2019 ODI World Cup under the Duckworth-Lewis system. In the T20 World Cup last year, Babar Azam again destroyed Kohli with 10 wickets.

There have been three matches between the two countries in the last year. Out of which India had to lose two matches. India had to lose to Pakistan in the Asia Cup last month. Now it is India’s turn to avenge the loss in the T20 World Cup last year. Though the match will be tough enough for India. India will have to avoid repeating a few mistakes if they are to secure victory.

India will have to avoid repeating these five mistakes to win against Pakistan. Let’s take a look at those mistakes:

Indian team’s fielding is considered to be world-class. However, the Indian team’s fielding was not very good in the last match against Pakistan. Arshdeep Singh took a catch against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. India had to pay the price. Besides, the fielding of the Indian cricketers was not so good in various areas. Recently, Kohli fielded well in the warm-up match against Australia.

This fielding has to be maintained against Pakistan as well. Can’t get off to a bad start: The Indian batsmen have been in trouble since the start against Pakistan. Pakistan in a group match of the Asia Cup Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul could not do anything special against the bowlers. Even in the last World Cup, these two batsmen could not shine. These two openers need to get off to a good start. If both of them handle the first spell of a bowler like Shaheen Afridi, then the road will be easy.

The run rate in middle overs:

India started well in the Asia Cup Super-Four match. But along with losing wickets in the middle overs, the pace of runs slowed down a lot. As a result, India could not reach 200 runs in that match. In the last World Cup too, Indian batsmen were seen struggling against Pakistani bowlers in the middle overs. India has to address this weakness.

19th Over:

The 19th over has become a problem for the Indian team. Recently, bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh have given a lot of runs despite being given the responsibility of the 19th over. For example, Bhuvneshwar gave away 19 runs in the 19th over in the group league match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. The Indian team will have to get rid of this weakness against Pakistan. Harshal Patel can be a great option for the 19th over.

Rizwan-Babar should return soon:

Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsmen Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been performing well against the Indian team. In the last World Cup, both of them together led Pakistan to victory against India. Babar did not get a run in the Asia Cup. But Rizwan batted brilliantly in both matches. Babar and Rizwan need to be brought back to the pavilion quickly if India is to win the 23rd.
