BJP takes U-turn after announcing suspension of ‘Jan Aakrosh Yatra’

Vivid News 24: The Rajasthan BJP has postponed its “Jan Aakrosh Yatra” in the state on Thursday afternoon due to the worrisome increase in Covid cases and deaths in China. Hours later, the party revised its position and said that the Yatra will continue. Satish Poonia, the leader of the Rajasthan BJP, tweeted at 3:04 PM, “Corona is once more extending its reach over the globe.

We have temporarily stopped the “Jan Aakrosh Yatra” due to this circumstance. In the future, the BJP will go among the people and raise their voices against the misrule of the Congress government in accordance with the new approach. We have currently delayed the Yatra per directions from the Central government.”

At 5:38 p.m., Poonia tweeted once more, “The Center or the state government have not yet released any rules about Corona. There was some misunderstanding in this situation over the Yatra’s postponement. It has been determined that the Yatra won’t be delayed for the time being.

We’ll keep on with our “Jan Aakrosh Yatra.” However, at the sessions that will be held throughout the Yatra, the Corona protocols will be addressed. At the same time, the trip won’t be delayed until the Center or the state issues a directive.”

Arun Singh, the BJP’s representative for Rajasthan, had informed the media in Delhi earlier in the day about the postponement of the “Jan Aakrosh Yatra.” Gulab Chand Kataria, the opposition’s leader in the Rajasthan Assembly, has previously warned party members of the virus and advised them not to congregate in big groups.

It should be noted that on Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to Congressman Rahul Gandhi asking him to halt his “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” which was travelling through Rajasthan, “in the national interest” if protocols could not be followed. Mandaviya’s request was made in response to an uptick in cases in China.
