“In custody is the suspect. At this time, the neighborhood is not continuously threatened “stated the sheriff of San Mateo County in a tweet. According to the sheriff’s office, the shooter was captured after being found in his vehicle at the Half Moon Bay substation parking lot. The small seaside city of Half Moon Bay, which has agricultural roots, has roughly 12,000 residents. The city and the surrounding San Mateo County area are widely known for cultivating flowers as well as vegetables like brussel sprouts. There are a few sites where the county allows marijuana cultivation. In this predominantly white neighborhood, Asians make up around 5% of the population.
The precise locations of the shootings have not yet been confirmed, and the shooting’s motivation is being looked into. This occurred a short time after a 72-year-old man murdered 10 people at a Monterey Park, California, Chinese New Year celebration. Police discovered him in the van and encircled it. As they moved closer to the automobile, the police heard a gunshot. Sheriff of Los Angeles County Robert Luna asserted that the suspect shot himself in the head and died there.
